No sooner did I pick this album to listen to, then I immediately learned that Bombino was playing in Los Angeles the very next night. Of course that’s also the one night this week where I already have plans. Serendipity is funny sometimes.

I was reading an article about the first show of the Rage Against the Machine reunion tour, which led me to a Reddit thread about it. Someone asked about other aggressive, socially-conscious artists to check out and another user suggested these guys.

I was looking for a nice, mellow album with Sunday morning vibes when serendipity struck. This one had been recommended by a colleague on one of our group chats. The exact mood I was looking for.
