I recently was gifted a nice list of old r&b and soul albums that I have been picking my way through. Really solid stuff.

This is another artist that was on one of those Sub Pop/Jones Soda bottles.

This one was recommended by a friend who is an Ed Sheeran super fan. As I listened to it, I felt like I was transported to an arena full of screaming soccer moms. So evocative.

I guess I would call this artist’s genre electro-jazz, or something like that. Solid jazz drumming with some very cool electronic sounds.

I always have to check out any band with a really interesting name.

I was reading a subreddit about Sigur Ros and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Another stellar recommendation from my go-to source for old soul, funk and reggae artists. It seems like I’ve heard this band sampled a fair amount.
