Due to my FOMO over missing this year’s Desert Daze festival in Joshua Tree National Park, I am going through the lineup and listening to all of the artists that I’m not familiar with, which is how we arrived at today’s selection.

Not sure how I came across these guys, but they are a great trio who came up in the music world as a backing band for a bunch of big time rap and R&B artists, including Alicia Keys, 50 Cent and Lauryn Hill.

I discovered this artist while delving into the career of 100 gecs member Laura Les, who was involved in a remix of Mydata. I may seem to be too old for hyperpop, but here we are. Gotta say, I’m into it.

This is a really cool group comprised of The Shins’ James Mercer and producer Danger Mouse. I was obsessed with Danger Mouse for a while after hearing The Grey Album, a remix/mashup of The Beatles’ White Album and Jay-Z’s Black Album.
