This is a really cool group comprised of The Shins’ James Mercer and producer Danger Mouse. I was obsessed with Danger Mouse for a while after hearing The Grey Album, a remix/mashup of The Beatles’ White Album and Jay-Z’s Black Album. With that and his body of work, it is really cool to hear a project where he has pivoted to playing all live instruments. There’s not much cooler than a celebrated artist pushing the envelope and doing different things than they are famous for.
