When you are discussing the artists who have had the biggest influence on the direction that rock music has taken over the years, it’s impossible not to have Nirvana come up in the conversation. So it follows that you should also include the band that was probably Kurt Cobain’s biggest influence, the Meat Puppets. All you have to do is look at the track list from this album and see how many of these songs have been covered, quite impressively, on various Nirvana recordings. On the legendary Nirvana Unplugged album alone, they covered three songs from this album, in a row. If that’s not an homage to your heroes, I don’t know what is.
