This blog project has really led me to celebrate the different tastes and experiences among my friends. It makes my life a lot easier to just be able to ask someone who knows better what they’ve been listening to. In this case, I’ve had my hip hop knowledge expanded as well as discovering a newContinue reading “#325 – Bandana by Freddie Gibbs and Madlib”

#324 – Tremendous Sea Of Love by Passion Pit
After yesterday’s “rediscovery” of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, I tried to think of other artists whose older albums were prolific in my listening habits at the time. There’s definitely no shortage of members of that category, and I could probably do at least a month of albums based on that theme. That wouldn’tContinue reading “#324 – Tremendous Sea Of Love by Passion Pit”
#323 – L.W. by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
I haven’t put much effort into finding new releases for my daily selection. There have been a couple notable ones that come to mind, but it had not occurred to me until tonight that it might be fun to try to listen to albums on the day of their release. I have been a bigContinue reading “#323 – L.W. by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard”
#322 – Cheap Queen by King Princess
My favorite thing about this project is the daily opportunity to discover a new artist. It has opened my eyes to many genres that I might never have realized how much they appeal to me. One big one has been the world of indie pop. I’ve traditionally been reluctant to spend much time on theContinue reading “#322 – Cheap Queen by King Princess”
#321 – Meta-Musica by The Funky Knuckles
I was doing so well with publishing my posts on time, but lately I’ve really been slipping. Now, however, I am rededicating myself to upholding the values of this blog, which are few in number. I would like to point out that, although there have been a few posts published later than I would like,Continue reading “#321 – Meta-Musica by The Funky Knuckles”
#320 – You You’re A History In Rust by Do Make Say Think
After a particularly prolific Sigur Ros listening experience under very specific and unusual circumstances a few weeks ago, I have been on a quest to discover other artists who create similarly moving musical journeys. Not surprisingly, there are quite a few out there who can be considered peers of the Icelandic soundscape masters and IContinue reading “#320 – You You’re A History In Rust by Do Make Say Think”
#319 – E & A by Eyedea & Abilities
I know I’ve written about this before, but I don’t feel like checking back to see how recently I have done. Hopefully, it’s longer than I think. The mental health roller coaster has definitely been the toughest thing about the pandemic. I’m sure anyone reading this is thinking, “No shit, genius.” If only the obviousnessContinue reading “#319 – E & A by Eyedea & Abilities”
#318 – Veneer by José Gonzales
This is the fantastic solo debut by the singer and guitarist of Junip. Interestingly, though Junip had already existed for a few years, Gonzales’ solo career was what created their notoriety.
#317 – Colors by Between the Buried and Me
As far as representing my own listening tastes goes, I feel like this blog is a fair representation. However, one genre that I have always loved but is not as plentiful as I would perhaps like is metal. I’ll have to do a metal week at some point to shore up the numbers a bit.
#316 – self-titled by Junip
This one was recommended by another musician friend, and I really enjoyed it. Junip is an indie/folk band from Sweden. They have a very mellow, melancholy sound that is mostly acoustic guitar and synth. I’m very interested to check out more of their catalog, along with the solo work of José González, Junip’s singer andContinue reading “#316 – self-titled by Junip”
