If you’re looking for a percussion-based, world music-inspired album, look no further than this offering by Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart and his ensemble, Planet Drum. I can’t help but picture him aggressively chewing gum while drumming in his signature white gloves, which look like they wouldn’t be out of place in any garden.

I think this is my first Norwegian blog entry and it’s not a death metal band. This artist has an incredibly impressive resume, including 7 albums and 3 novels, and at only 41, it seems like her creative life will go on for decades. I’ll be adding her to my reading to-do list.

Well this is a first for this blog. This artist started following me while at the same time recommending that I check out his album, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s a great psychedelic rock project. Thanks for the follow and suggestion!

These guys are another band who has created their own genre. If the term “ambient country” doesn’t make you wonder what they do, I don’t know what to tell you.

The title of this album is perfect, as it evokes a road-trip through the American southwest. A great collection of folk/country instrumentals.

One more representative of modern Ukrainian music. This guy is a folky singer-songwriter.

For my album #666 it seemed fitting to pick a metal band. This is another excellent Ukrainian artist with an impressive body of work.

These guys are a prolific Australian indie rock band who managed to release more than one album per year between 2012 and 2018. Seems like they’re overdue for another one.
