These guys are similar to a bunch of my favorite artists, so it’s surprising that it took me this long to check them out. Some nice mellow indie/bluegrassy vibes.

I heard about these guys from a Spin article about how they were the only non-hip hop act at some festival and absolutely blew the crowd away. Their sound is classic hardcore that reminds me of high school. Also, this album has been suggested to me by 3 people since I listened to it.

I now find myself in the awkward position of being so far behind in my posts that I have to relisten to some of my selections to refresh my memory. These guys are an electronic supergroup of sorts, featuring Shpongle’s Simon Posford and Benji Vaughn of Prometheus. True trippy edm royalty.

Always good to get in some good, stony metal. These guys sound like they could’ve been around in the ‘70s, opening for Black Sabbath. The singer even sounds a bit like Ozzy.

This is the latest release from the estate of Owsley “Bear” Stanley, famed Grateful Dead audio engineer and prolific LSD manufacturer. I got about halfway through this album before I noticed what the title is. I don’t want my friend Emily to think that this selection is a jab at her, but even if she does, I think her beef is really with joe p and not me.

I tend to gravitate towards guitar-based music, so it’s always great to find an electronic-heavy artist who utilizes the guitar in cool ways. I would be very interested in seeing this guy live and what kind of performance it is.

Here is yet another band that people have tried to get me into over the years and for whatever reason I missed the boat on. Fortunately, with music it’s never to late to start.

I love me some Jenny Lewis. From her solo albums to her collaborations to Rilo Kiley, there’s not really anything I’ve heard from her that I didn’t like.
