This guy was a guest on a show I was working on, and he claimed that his new album was going to get him cancelled. Listening to this, his 2016 offering, I wouldn’t be at all surprised by that.

Based on who this album was recommended by, I was expecting it to be a pretty sleepy, mostly acoustic affair. How wrong I was. It’s actually a lot more energetic and entertaining than I would’ve guessed.

Every once in a while I hear an artist/album/song that it seems like everyone I know is discovering them at the same time. Since listening to this album, no fewer than three people have recommended it to me. It might, however, just be that we are all on the same email list.

This album was recommended by a coworker who is friends with the songwriter of this band. It’s some very well-produced arena rock material, with guitar work that is very reminiscent of Queen’s Brian May.

I am a huge Radiohead fan, so I’ll always check out any other project that those guys are involved in. This was the perfect mood for a Saturday afternoon. How better to bring the week to an end than Bloody Marys(Maries? Maryses?) and some instrumental mood music.

I’ve been listening to the Lizzo albums a lot recently, and since I like to take the lazy road, I will follow the algorithm’s advice once again. “People” also like Qveen Herby, says Spotify, and being the good little consumer that I am, I’m following the instructions of my tech overlords.

I know I sound like a broken record sometimes with comments like this, but this is another artist that has been around for a long time but somehow escaped my attention until now. I have some friends that are obsessed with them, blah blah, you’ve heard this story before, I know.
