I read a great article about this album and how it inspired Duane Allman to focus on playing slide. You can definitely hear the influence when you compare The Allman Brothers version of “Statesboro Blues” with the Taj Mahal version. The guitarist featured on this album is Jesse Ed Davis, a legendary session player whose solo work will be out selection one of these days.
