I was completely obsessed with Imogen Heap a few years ago, having seen her extraordinary performance at LA’s Greek Theater. If you’ve been following pop music for any amount of time, you’ve probably heard some of her work, whether you’re aware of it or not.

Yesterday’s selection led me to my all-too-familiar pastime of picking the next day’s selection off of Spotify’s “fans also like” section. It has never steered me wrong yet. Jinx!

One of my frequent sorrows as a music fan is my love of artists that have passed away or are no longer creating new music for whatever reason. There are a few songs from The Barr Bros’ previous album that I have long been obsessed with, so it feels a little silly that it took me so long to branch out further into their catalog.

I can’t get enough of the Linda Ronstadt version of Little Feat’s song “Willin’.” The version from this album is also excellent, even without the fantastic Sneaky Pete pedal steel solo.

These guys have been one of my favorite bands for quite a while now and they really are a music lover’s dream. The music is great, their live show is extremely entertaining and their productivity is prolific, to say the least.
