Another favorite channel for discovering artists, the daily Relix emails, brought me these guys in the form of a write-up of their recent tour with Delta Spirit. I had listened to an album by these guys over the summer, but it seemed weird to have one of them at my Thanksgiving dinner and not subsequently listen to another of their albums. I’m not made of stone, after all.

This is a pretty cool electronic pop album that came on Spotify last night. I’ve been gravitating toward this kind of atmospheric, chill-out music a lot recently, and it really speaks to music’s power to affect your moods. It’s a wonderful side-effect that benefits me – and my family – daily.

Probably not the greatest pick for a Thanksgiving album, but one of our guests brought up an awkward lunch meeting he had with a member of this group, so I had to check them out. Happy thanksgiving to all.

Sometimes an interesting album cover is all it takes to pique my interest. That’s not alway the best way to pick, but this time it certainly paid off. You can tell right away when you’re adding the first song on the album to multiple playlists.

Another houseguest recommendation. This is real lot the way to discover new music. You play music/talk about what you’re listening to with other people, and everyone’s passions are revealed. In a musical way, at least.
