I tend to gravitate towards guitar-based music, so it’s always great to find an electronic-heavy artist who utilizes the guitar in cool ways. I would be very interested in seeing this guy live and what kind of performance it is.

#605 – The Crane Wife by The Decemberists
Here is yet another band that people have tried to get me into over the years and for whatever reason I missed the boat on. Fortunately, with music it’s never to late to start.
#604 – Under the Blacklight by Rilo Kiley
I love me some Jenny Lewis. From her solo albums to her collaborations to Rilo Kiley, there’s not really anything I’ve heard from her that I didn’t like.
#603 – self-titled by Cymande
Happy new year to all! This artist was recommended by my Phish friends. NYE is usually a time of music and concerts and events, but pretty much everything was cancelled due to omicron, even the standard Phish new year’s run at Madison Square Garden. They hastily put together a super interesting, audience-free performance, which wasContinue reading “#603 – self-titled by Cymande”
#602 – The Digging Remedy by Plaid
I always enjoy discovering artists with a long history and deep catalog. While it’s also great to find new and up-and-coming bands, when you find something that really sparks your interest, having a bunch of material to peruse makes the discovery all the more interesting.
#601 – Mysterium by Hammock
I can’t get enough of ambient/post-rock bands. It’s been my go-to genre recently for general purposes, especially for its meditative qualities.
#600 – Pacific•atlantic by The End of the Ocean
I can’t believe that this blog has reached album #600. Although, when I began this project, it never for a second occurred to me that covid would still be such a huge problem at this point. Is it possible that the anti-vaxers are such fans of my blog that they are prolonging this madness forContinue reading “#600 – Pacific•atlantic by The End of the Ocean”
#599 – Brood VII by Jade Cicada
If you’re ever trying to get me to listen to an artist that I’m not familiar with, if they have a song that features a Rick and Morty sample, that would be a strong selling point.
#598 – 3 by Mapache
These guys are a nice blend of mellow guitar work and vocal harmonies. Just another triumph of the Spotify algorithm-based album selection method.
#597 – Haitian Boy Kodak by Kodak Black
I really like the feel of this guy’s music. It has a very classic, 90s hip-hop thing going on.
