I had heard the name of this group a couple of times, but really had no idea what to expect. Their blend of indie rock and country vibes makes for a fun, mellow listening experience.

A friend from work was raving to me about this album, so I had to give it a shot. I have to agree that it’s a great one. I don’t think there was ever any doubt that Billie Eilish would continue to create quality music, so this newest offering should come as no surprise.

This is a truly beautiful album. It was inspired by a trip to some caves the artist went to in Ecuador, and also features some recordings of ambient sounds he recorded while there. Another favorite channel for discovering artists, the daily Relix emails, brought me these guys in the form of a write-up of their recent tour with Delta Spirit. I had listened to an album by these guys over the summer, but it seemed weird to have one of them at my Thanksgiving dinner and not subsequently listen to another of their albums. I’m not made of stone, after all.

This is a pretty cool electronic pop album that came on Spotify last night. I’ve been gravitating toward this kind of atmospheric, chill-out music a lot recently, and it really speaks to music’s power to affect your moods. It’s a wonderful side-effect that benefits me – and my family – daily.
