#429 – Monty Python’s Contractual Obligation Album by Monty Python

I used to listen to a lot of comedy albums, so it’s a little strange that it took me until now to pick one for a NAAD selection. The impact that Monty Python has had on my life cannot be overstated. The first time I saw Monty Python and The Holy Grail is indelibly etched in my memory. It’s as formative and impactful a memory as any major event in the collective consciousness. Listening to this album took me right back to that and many other memories. I will say, however, that some of the material has not aged particularly well, but it’s all a great snapshot of where society was at the time of its release. I’ve always especially enjoyed their jabs at organized religion, which probably informed my own beliefs to some degree.
