#407 – The Great War by Sabaton

I came across these guys by accident, while reading some random Reddit thread. They are basically the metal band equivalent to my favorite podcast, Hardcore History. Each of Sabaton’s warfare-themed albums recounts gritty stories from one of humanity’s greatest conflicts. This one is about various parts of World War One, the birthplace of industrial warfare and the horrors of the modern battlefield. It was also the origin of many of the lasting conflicts and alliances of the past century or so. I don’t know how it’s taught in other countries, but my suburban American education was woefully lacking in the important details and lessons of this war.
