#396 – Kedu America by Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe

I’ve been reading a series of great African novels recently. To be more precise, I’m in the process of completing a trilogy that I first began to read about ten years ago with Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. It’s probably the most famous African novel to be translated into English. The trilogy follows different generations of a family of Igbo men, a tribe in Nigeria. The first part depicts life in a traditional Igbo village, culminating with the first arrival of European missionaries. The other two books take place at different periods in the colonial history of the British in that area. Anyway, this slice of Nigerian life made me want to check out some music from that area.
