I was interested to learn that a grand jury has convened in New York to weigh charges involving the Trump organization. While this news is welcome, I have a hard time feeling optimistic about Teflon Don being made to feel any consequences for his lifetime of shitty behavior, but I am really hopeful that the proceedings will occupy so much of his attention that he has no time to think about trying to undermine democracy any further. Of course, the sociopaths that populated his inner circle may still be able to participate, but if they had to hitch their wagons to the next morally flexible republican on the list, that would be great news for the world, at least temporarily.
