
As I have been discovering all of these new artists, I’ve been trying to find at least a little biographical information about each artist. Their backstories are as varied and diverse as their work, or themselves. Unfortunately, and perhaps essentially to the development of many artists, many of these stories are tragic. Such is the case with the creator of today’s selection, Emily Remler. A rising star in the jazz world, she was set to carry the torch of jazz guitar in the grand tradition of Wes Montgomery. She truly embraced the jazz musician lifestyle, including the heroin use that eventually led to her death at 32.
