This is the fantastic solo debut by the singer and guitarist of Junip. Interestingly, though Junip had already existed for a few years, Gonzales’ solo career was what created their notoriety.

As far as representing my own listening tastes goes, I feel like this blog is a fair representation. However, one genre that I have always loved but is not as plentiful as I would perhaps like is metal. I’ll have to do a metal week at some point to shore up the numbers a bit.

Another forgotten post.  I’m really starting to rack them up now.  I swear I listened to this yesterday, but I worked really late and forgot to post it when I got done.  Womp womp.

Blanco Brown makes music that he describes as “trailertrap,” a very entertaining mix of hip-hop and country.  I wonder how many other artists cite both Outkast and Johnny Cash as major inspirations.  The two styles, sharing only a common region, are combined in a really fun way.
