#271 – McCartney III by Paul McCartney

2020 was a big year for new albums.  It may just seem that way to me since new music has been a focal point of my day for some time now, but I don’t have any other year to compare it to, as far as my awareness goes.  There have been quite a few new releases by legendary songwriters and performers who have not been active recently.  Perhaps it’s the extraordinary events of the year, but people’s creativity has really been awakened.  There’s always a lot of attention when the most interesting living Beatle puts out new music, even after eighteen solo albums.  There are few artists who have the reach that Sir Paul has around the world, so you really have to give it a listen regardless of the public reception.  That said, it’s certainly not among his greatest work, but still worth a listen.
