I have unfortunately had quite a few selections like today’s, where I am listening to an album by a great artist who has shuffled off this mortal coil in the past 24 hours. There is a certain beauty in listening to the work of someone who has passed on. They live on through their work and the connection that people feel to it. The loss of Sophie is reverberating through the music world, which is a testament to the prolific body of work she leaves behind. The heights of her accomplishments are such that some of the biggest pop artists in the world will be keeping the flame of her memory alive for many years to come. We should all be so fortunate to leave such an enduring mark on the world. Hers is truly a profoundly tragic loss.
