As we excessively slowly head towards another lockdown in California, it’s time to reflect on how we each responded to the first lockdown and try to do better for ourselves this time around. Now that the situation is familiar to us, the enemies are boredom and despair, and this voyage of musical discovery that we have embarked upon has proven to be a very effective buffer for both. For that I owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who has recommended an album to me. The longer my backlog of suggestions is, the longer I should be able to stave off the quarantine blues. I hope we all can find productive ways to cope and move forward as best we can.
