Today’s selection, besides being an excellent album, has shines a spotlight onto yet another blind spot in my listening habits. I have picked relatively few albums that are not in English. Aside from a few moments here or there, this is the first French album that has made it into the blog. So now its time to go on a voyage of discovery, to see (hear) what many other cultures’ versions of rock, jazz, pop, et cetera consist of. Without looking into it too aggressively, I’d guess that my selections represent only about 20-30 countries. And so, I now have set for myself the arbitrary goal of exploring the world of music more completely than my blog currently displays. Can I do it, and does anybody besides me – or perhaps including me – care about it on any level?
