I can’t bring myself to actually watch the confirmation hearings that have been going on this week. The pageantry of it all is ridiculous, with both sides pretending they aren’t just going through the motions in the process of a foregone conclusion. There does seem to be, however, a pretty good drinking game to be made from the proceedings. It’s very simple: you take a drink whenever the future supreme court justice (capitalization omitted intentionally) gives a non-answer or otherwise dodges a question. You could add any number of other rules involving either republican back patting or democratic outrage, but it might get a little dangerous with that volume of drinks.
