There’s no better antidote for the American condition than music. Its especially satisfying to discover a new artist that represents the antithesis of our current president, and today’s selection is a perfect example of this. A powerful voice and member of the LGBTQ+ community, Perfume Genius is a brutally honest artist, which is really refreshing in this time of nonstop double speak and the 24 hour news-for-profit meat grinder. It makes one wonder what the world would be like if even half of us could be as honest with ourselves as he is. Apparently, he also has an insane perfume collection, so he’s even serious about his stage name. It’s an inspirational example to follow, to be sure.
