#132 – Independent Worm Saloon by Butthole Surfers

Anyone who has been to a concert has experienced the camaraderie of strangers who have been thrust into each other’s presence for a little while.  It doesn’t matter who they are, they like the same band as you and they’ll be standing close by for the next few hours, so it’s preferable to have friendly relations.  You feel a genuine connection to strangers with whom you have only one thing that you really know about each other.  Nowhere is this connection felt as strongly as in the audience of a weird band.  The rarer the fan, the closer they feel to one another.  A similar experience is when you find out a coworker or acquaintance loves the same band as you and your friendship takes off from there.  Even though the source material is a different place and time, you have a cherished memory in common and so will always have something to talk about for a little while.
