Amid months and months of truly awful news almost all of every day, there are moments of hope sprinkled around. The arrest of Steve Bannon provides a mild amount of hope that our legal justice system still exists and can be applied to rich white men. Who knows if it will lead to anything – president shyster would certainly pardon them if given the opportunity – but it is inspiring to know that there are crusaders at the ready to punish the malfeasance of this administration the moment that becomes possible. Hopefully we will eventually look back a this time as a dark warning of how low we can sink if we’re not careful, because the other option is so ugly it’s disturbing to even think about it.
