I have never been a huge fan of putting covers on your studio albums. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, because it has come up time and again in my daily selections. There certainly are great, recorded versions of other people’s songs out there. Johnny Cash’s last few albums have some great examples of this. I also like a bunch of Joan Baez’s covers, however the version of “Blue Sky” on this album was disappointing at best. I’m not here to crap on anyone’s music, but if you’re not creating a new and interesting version of the song, just save it for the live show.
