I was just listening to an older song by these guys and wondered what has become of them. They were pretty huge for a while there and had some of the coolest music videos around. I’d never listened to this album, which was their last release and is now coming up on 10 years sinceContinue reading “#1135 – Hungry Ghosts by OK Go”

#1134 – Ungodly Hour by Chloe x Halle
While I was working at a Juneteenth festival on Monday, my wife and daughters went to see The Little Mermaid, which was the kids’ first movie theater experience. Their reviews have been so positive that I started looking up other stuff that Halle Bailey has done, which led me to this album, her third releaseContinue reading “#1134 – Ungodly Hour by Chloe x Halle”
#1133 – Mount Wittenberg Orca by Björk & Dirty Projectors
Not sure how I have overlooked this album until today. Obviously, I’ll have to do some digging to find out about other collaborations that Björk had done.

#1131 – The Planets (Ultimate Edition) by Isao Tomita
While I realize that I listened to a recording of Gustav Holst’s The Planets not too long ago, I came across this unique version and had to pass it along. This one is an all-electronic reimagining of the classic piece by a legendary composer and prolific electronic musician.
#1130 – Segu Blue by Basseku Kouyate & Ngoni ba
I was listening to the livestream of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival last night and Bela Fleck brought out Basseku Kouyate for a couple songs, calling him the Bela Fleck of Mali. Which conversely makes Bela Fleck the Basseku Kouyate of America. That’s how that works, right?
#1129 – ÁTTA by Sigur Rós
I really love to listen to new albums on the day that they are released, especially when they are by one of my favorite artists who haven’t put out a studio album in about 10 years. Very excited for this one.
