This is the long-awaited first posthumous album by the legendary Prince, and it certainly does not disappoint. I can only assume that he had quite a unreleased few albums like this in the can. Such a prolific releaser of albums must surely have a deep catalog of unheard material and it will be fun to,Continue reading “#456 – Welcome 2 America by Prince”

The song “My Lady’s on Fire” was on one of my go-to pandemic playlists, so it seemed only fitting to listen to the remainder of that album. Of course, I didn’t bother checking to see if I had already listened to an album of his.

Unfortunately, I frequently discover artists when I read a news story about their, often untimely, death. This one is an early album by one of the legends of the house music scene. One of the genres that I am mournfully poorly-versed in is Dance, so it works to my advantage that I know quite a few people that love that scene.

A friend of mine recommended that I check out this artist. He has known them for years from doing session work with them while in the Dallas music scene. I enjoyed this one thoroughly and will be checking them out when they come through on their big, post-Covid tour.

Just read an article about the rise of the “psychobilly” genre and had to do a little dive into that world.

This selection is by the co-host of the show I was working on today. Most people know Kevin Eubanks as Jay Leno’s band leader from the Tonight Show, but if you’re a jazz guitar fan you’re probably just as familiar with his long and virtuosic album catalog.
