I picked this album partially because Spotify compared this artist to Tycho, but also because my kids go to a daycare called Little People. It’s not much of a reason, but it doesn’t really have to be, does it?

#354 – Tallahassee by The Mountain Goats
#353 – Invasion of Privacy by Cardi B
#352 – Dreamland by Glass Animals
Today I got my second shot of the Pfizer vaccine. I had to drive to a random CVS in a weird little town called Santa Paula. Not too bad of a day overall.
#351 – Tunak Tunak Tun by Daler Mehndi
This album was recommended by a friend, who sold it to me with his description of Daler Mehndi as the Indian David Byrne. I can definitely hear why he would think that, as well as why I should be exploring Indian music more. Yet another culture with a long and distinctive musical tradition that IContinue reading “#351 – Tunak Tunak Tun by Daler Mehndi”
#350 – Janet by Janet Jackson
Janet Jackson’s song “Rhythm Nation” came on at work the other day. Her album of the same name was one of the first cassette tapes I ever bought, along with MC Hammer. It brought back a lot of memories and made me want to check out some of her other albums. This one was theContinue reading “#350 – Janet by Janet Jackson”
#349 – Room 41 by Paul Cauthen

#348 – Free Love by Sylvan Esso
This selection broke new ground for this blog, both by being the album that I listened to earlier in the day than any other, but also that I was able to listen to it while sitting through an HR meeting at work. Getting shit done.
#347 – Thrill Seeker by Sub Urban
I realize that pop music is more about releasing singles than albums at this point, but it still feels a little weird to me to discover an artist that I really like that doesn’t really have an LP. This is really an EP, as it’s only seven songs and nineteen minutes, but it certainly makesContinue reading “#347 – Thrill Seeker by Sub Urban”
#346 – Amen by Salif Keita
As always, when I ask my coworkers for a recommendation, they deliver. The past two days’ selections came from the same, very brief conversation. In today’s case, I had asked for a good African album and here it is.
