#861 – Grown Unknown by Lia Ices

Sorry for the BIG backlog of posts. Time to get back up to date. I apologize for the lapse and the lameness of many of the upcoming posts. Great albums, though.

#860 – NOT TiGHT by DOMi & JD BECK

Sometimes I hear a group that I am so instantly intrigued by that I immediately try to find out when they are playing near me. Then, as is equally often the case, I discover that not only are they playing near me very soon, but also at a venue that I love. Oh, and alsoContinue reading “#860 – NOT TiGHT by DOMi & JD BECK”

#859 – RELAXER by alt-J

This is yet another artist that has been recommended to me by many people over the years that I just never really got around to listening to until pretty recently. And, like so many other artists on my newfound fandom list, I first started listening to them after seeing their set at Coachella. Funny howContinue reading “#859 – RELAXER by alt-J”

#858 – Cheers by The Wild Reeds

Since every band now has its own genre, I always enjoy it when one preemptively names their own genre. This group describes themselves as a “black metal sparkle folk” band, and I must say it’s worth a listen to find out what that means.

#857 – Dose Your Dreams by Fucked Up

Here’s another one whose album art, name and album title really threw me off the scent. So much more eclectic and interesting than expected.

#856 – Mezzanine by Massive Attack

I don’t know what I was expecting from these guys, but I guess with their name I thought it would be a lot heavier and angrier than it is. I never tire of being proven wrong, especially when it comes to music.

#855 – Eat the Light by Lotus

I wouldn’t call myself a newcomer to the jam scene necessarily, but my knowledge in that area has until recently been limited to a handful of prominent bands. It’s been fun discovering some of the up-and-comers and the new potential torch bearers of the next generation.

#854 – Views by Haruhisa Tanaka

As some of you might already know, I like to find new music through the curated playlists on Spotify. Today’s selection came from a playlist called Ambient Tokyo, which I highly recommend.
