There’s a bit of a hubbub going on right now over the outrageous prices that Ticketmaster is charging for the upcoming Blink 182 tour. I’m not sure where all these complainers have been for the last 20 years, as this issue has gotten worse and worse over time. There was once a time when AmericaContinue reading “#895 – Neighborhoods by Blink 182”

#894 – I Know NIGO! by Nigo
I just got invited to work at some kind of lifestyle convention that’s being headlined by Nigo. He’s a very successful artist in multiple mediums – music and fashion – and is described as having quite the celebrity Rolodex, as is clearly on display with all of the high-profile artists featured on this album.
#893 – God Save the Animals by Alex G
I don’t know what led me to this album, but I loved it. Enough so, in fact, that I almost bought a ticket to their show tomorrow night, then remembered that I have to work. Just getting older and lamer by the minute.
#892 – RENAISSANCE by Beyoncé
I’m not ashamed to admit that I love me some Beyoncé. My family’s Covid experience featured a regular healthy dose of Queen B dance party. At one point I had some of the Love On Top choreography down, but I haven’t kept up on it.
#891 – self-titled by Raspberries
Spotify presented me with a category called Rock 1972 this morning and this album was the first one I came across in there that I had not heard before. Turns out that was quite the prolific year.
#890 – Hard To Imagine The Neighbourhood Ever Changing by The Neighbourhood
I was listening to some Nipsey Hussle when I came across the track he was featured in from this album. Hip Hop has been underrepresented on the blog recently, so we’ll have to do something about that.
#889 – The Sane Asylum by Blind Illusion
This band has shifted their lineup around fairly regularly through their career. I had to check out this album when I learned that Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde of Primus were in the band at that time.
#888 – Paranoid & Sunburnt by Skunk Anansie
I overheard a conversation about this artist the other day and had to check them out. Honestly, I’m a little surprised I never came across them. When they were releasing their first few albums, I was at my peak of heavy music fandom. To be fair, I don’t think suburban white males were necessarily inContinue reading “#888 – Paranoid & Sunburnt by Skunk Anansie”
#887 – self-titled by MUNA
I have a few email subscriptions that provide me with a lot of my daily selections. Today, it came from an update about the upcoming shows at The Wiltern, one of my favorite Los Angeles venues and probably the one that I have been to the most. This artist drew my attention due to theirContinue reading “#887 – self-titled by MUNA”
#886 – Tailwinds by The Fearless Flyers
This group started as an experiment by members of Vulfpeck which is comprised of bass, baritone and standard guitars accompanied by a minimalist drum kit. For this album they’ve added some horns as well.
