This band from New Zealand sounds like their performances would involve a laptop full of tracks that they work around, but in fact they pride themselves on playing all of the parts live. An unusual feat for artists in this genre.

#944 – Old Time Radio by Joey Pecoraro
I’m always curious to see artist bios on Spotify. They can be anything from copypasta from their Wikipedia page or promotional materials to some very brief and/or tongue-in-cheek introductions by the artist themselves. In this case: “Joey is a guy from Michigan who makes music for your emotions:)”
#943 – At.Long.Last.A$AP by A$AP Rocky
This artist was the performer of the week on a show that I’ve been working on. His set included some combinations of very high and not-so-high production values. It’s very entertaining to see someone create a very detailed aesthetic to their stage but at the same time train some rough-around-the-edges dancers with their steps onlyContinue reading “#943 – At.Long.Last.A$AP by A$AP Rocky”
#942 – PRE PLEASURE by Julia Jacklin
I keep finding myself drawn to Australian artists of all genres recently, for whatever reason. There seems to be a great music scene down there with a really cool indie vibe. That’s not the primary reason that I want to go there, but it certainly adds to the allure.
#941 – Songbook by The Lazy Eyes
I love a good Spotify recommendation. A track from this album came up after I finished the Big Thief album from yesterday. #940 – Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You by Big Thief
This album came up on a best of 2022 list and I am definitely a fan. Their tour only has east coast dates remaining, unfortunately.
#939 – Fixin’ to Die by G. Love & Special Sauce
This was recommended to me as a perfect rainy-day album. I live in the LA area (which doesn’t get much rain, FYI), so that’s more significant of an occurrence than it sounds.
#938 – I Am Not A Human Being II by Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne performed on a show that I’m working on and now I can’t stop listening to the song Rich As Fuck. Give it a listen.
#937 – Chez Mezerg by MEZERG
A dive into the world of theramin recordings led a friend of mine to this artist. And possibly to my pending purchase of a theramin. I’m sure it will be useful.
#936 – Aleph by Gesaffelstein
In the midst of Kanye West’s antisemitic tour through social media and the worst of the right wing mouthpieces, I came across an article paying tribute to the Jewish producers that were responsible for some of his biggest hits, including today’s artist.
