It’s so strange to think about the start of this blog as I reach this milestone, arbitrary though it is. It was borne when the world was in total chaos (first post: 5/6/20) with no end in sight, and I was struggling to find any meaningful accomplishment to center my increasingly monotonous days around. Now, the world is in a slightly less insane place, by some standards, and slightly more by many others. Personally (mentally), I’m in a much better place, having done a lot of self-reflection and work in the intervening years. Also, I have regained my career, which is a blessing and a curse, all inextricably intertwined. And yet, the one thing that has remained consistent from then to now is my daily habit of picking a new album to discover each day. It has been a successful rallying point, knowing that, whatever else happens that day, I will hear some new music and have at least one minor notch on my belt.
So it will continue, and I hope you and many more people will join me and follow along on this journey of discovery. Maybe all we’ll learn about is more artists and genres, but for me, that has been more than enough, and has motivated and led to more and more positive change in my life. I hope you’ll come along for the ride, and bring a friend, hopefully one who has some albums to recommend.
