I started my audio career as an assistant on a lot of live classical recordings in the Boston area. My frame of reference for that kind of music has always been very narrow and generally reserved to the old masters that everybody learns about (I’m actually listening to Beethoven’s 3rd Symphony as I write this), so it’s easy to forget/ignore the large catalog of contemporary composers. This one came up in a playlist of modern classical music.
