I love a good supergroup. My favorite album from last year was probably The Record by boygenius. Although this album (from the male version of boygenius) is about 15 years old, and only came to my attention because they recently released a deluxe version, the timing is perfect for me. After several missed opportunities, I’m finally going to be seeing My Morning Jacket live, at a festival in Hartford, CT. I’ve also never seen the work of the other folk monsters either, but I also haven’t felt quite so much urgency to see them as I feel for MMJ. Regardless, this rerelease, plus some other new singles recently, seems to portend an upcoming album and/or tour.
