As a mediocre but committed guitarist, albums like this always inspire me to try to complete the many unfinished compositions that haunt my notebooks and fretboards. I am under no illusion that any of my potential future output would be able to compete with an artist such as Julian Lage, but he reminds me that there actually is an appetite for a mellow guitar-based album out there, so why not throw your hat in the ring?
