This is the debut album by Joan Shelley a singer/songwriter whose country/folk roots are evident from the moment the first notes are played. From this start, through several albums of great, mostly acoustic music, it’s no wonder she later recorded with Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy as producer. I’d love to hear a tune with the two of them.
