#1181 – Belladonna by Daniel Lanois

There are so many talented musicians and producers out there who mostly help the already-famous create their next big thing, but who also have a lot of their own material. Very often, the results of their solo output are not the most commercially viable albums to be found, but since their bread and butter is the success of their producing, there’s not much pressure on them to court a particular audience. I find such works to be among the most interesting that I listen to, being unconstrained by anything besides their own standards they set for themselves.
