This album was recommended to me by the Spotify algorithm, in all its glory, which has rarely if ever let me down. It knows me so well. How could I resist the debut album of an artist who is such a DIY guy that he makes all of his instruments himself, including woodwind and brass. I don’t think he’s made his own piano, at least not yet. He also creates all of his album art and even builds some of his studio gear and computers. A true renaissance man, he might be my new artistic hero, assuming the remainder of his catalog is as enjoyable as this album.
