I worked at a Juneteenth festival today in LA’s Leimert Park that was meant to be headlined by Jazmine Sullivan. Unfortunately, her set was abruptly cancelled after a couple stampedes caused by unclear circumstances. Various stories went around, from a gun being pulled to a fence being knocked over and bottles broken. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like anyone was hurt, but the ensuing chaos led either the headliner’s team or the festival organizers to pull the plug just before she was to go on stage. It was an unfortunate ending to a really beautiful event.
