#215 – Wrecking Ball by Emmylou Harris

I know I say it every time I pick a country album, but they are far too rare in my genre mixture.  I am, however, familiar with a decent amount of Ms. Harris’ body of work, not least of which was her stint as a backup singer for the great Gram Parsons, who is probably my favorite country artist.  With an early professional experience like that, it’s no wonder she went on to become such a prolific songwriter in her own right.  And if you’re not already very familiar with the work of Gram Parsons, do something about that.  You no doubt know at least a handful of his songs that have been notably covered throughout the years since his death.
